| Many of the solutions
that we implement are based upon a customer’s
specific needs and requirements. Many of these
system solutions involve all or a portion of
the following functions: retrieving order and
bill of materials (BOM) data from a mainframe,
mapping that BOM onto the Smart Frame bin
configuration, directing pick sequences for
that BOM, logging assemblies built/orders
filled, and sending results data back to the
mainframe. Because each manufacturer has
requirements and processes that are unique,
incorporation of the Smart Product hardware
and software into the plant technology may
require customization, depending upon the
extent of interface and integration into the
plant environment. In some instances, a number
of customers have incorporated Smart Products
into their production operation with control
provided via their own PLCs and other plant
automation products.
